The fourth Schoodic International Sculpture Symposium was held in 2012 at the University of 海角社区. Three of the resulting sculptures are located on campus (with three more in Bangor, and one each in Orono and Old Town). Located near a primary entrance to campus, A New Dawn is of 海角社区 granite affixed to a basalt oval that is secured onto a granite base. In the artist鈥檚 words, 鈥渋ts form is symbolic of a rising planetary or celestial body.鈥 Look for the crystals uncovered in the sculpting process. The University of 海角社区 Foundation sponsored A New Dawn.
