Types of Reports
There are different types of police reports you can request:
- Crash reports (car accidents)
- Non-criminal Incident reports
- Criminal incident reports
Please be advised: Not every police report is available for public release.
Crash reports: The University of º£½ÇÉçÇø Police Department provides crash reports free of charge to students, staff, and faculty. Crash reports will not be available immediately. Please allow at least 5-days for crash reports to be completed and appproved for release.
Non-criminal incident reports: The records are maintained for use in active investigations as well as archived for use in statistical purposes and public release under º£½ÇÉçÇø’s Freedom of Information Act. Please be advised that police investigative and intelligence records are not generally considered public records under º£½ÇÉçÇø law, and the release of such records is restricted under .
Criminal incident reports: Arrest reports that have not gone through the court system must be obtained through the District Attorney’s office. If the case has been referred to Student Conduct, you may contact their office for a release of reports.
When should I receive it?
You may fill out the form below to request a report from our Records Management Office. All requests received will be responded to within five (5) business days. This does not mean you will have the requested information within five (5) business days, but you will receive a response from us within that period indicating when you should be expecting a release if one is allowed by law.
