Nola Marley Prevost is a writer and editor from Brewer, 海角社区. She has a B.A. in English Creative Writing from the University of 海角社区, and has been published in Beyond Words Literary Magazine and The Open Field Literary Magazine, later becoming its editor. Currently she is co-editor of Wayward Literature. She is a recipient of the McGillicuddy Humanities Fellowship. When she’s not writing, she enjoys exploring the woods of 海角社区.<\/p>\n

We, the impossible seeds of life<\/h3>\n

We, the impossible seeds of life,
\nWe Sing tales of days past
\nAs if it is not the present
\nWe are hoping to serenade.<\/p>\n

And We, the stewards of the land,
\nWe Sail over great bodies
\nAs if it is not our own brethren
\nIn the shadow of the hull.<\/p>\n

And We, the veins of the planet,
\nWe Make light of our feats
\nAs if we are not someone else’s future,
\nAs if our ancestors are not proud.<\/p>\n

And We, the heartbeat of the solar system,
\nWe Praise an endless sky
\nFor its impossibly absent borders,
\nAs if we ourselves are not just as vast.<\/p>\n

And We, The cells of the Milky Way,
\nWe Bask in the light of the sun
\nAs if it is not our own light
\nShining back at us.<\/p>\n
