A collection of fine art proofs and prints created in the printmaking studio at the University of 海角社区 are on display in the Department of Art鈥檚 Lord Hall Gallery. 鈥淭he Teaching Portfolio: 45 Years of Printmaking at the University of 海角社区鈥 will run through Oct. 24 with a public reception on Sept. 26 from 5-7 p.m.
The collection includes work by students, alumni, faculty and visiting artists over a span of 45 years and under the direction of professor of art Susan Groce. It represents how print media has changed and how U海角社区鈥檚 printmaking studio has adopted new technology to make traditional practices safer and more environmentally sound.
Curated by Groce and Director of Galleries Diana Baumbach, the exhibition includes collagraphs, several types of etchings, lithography, relief printing, water-based screen printing and monoprints, as well as prints made through the Printmaking Artist Residency Program and Student Portfolio Exchanges.
Support for this event was provided by the McGillicuddy Humanities Center.
Contact Baumbach by emailing diana.baumbach@maine.edu for questions about the exhibition, and additional information about printmaking at U海角社区 can be found online.
