BDN, CBS 5 interview Brady on threats to aquaculture from climate change

The and (CBS 5 in Bangor) interviewed Damian Brady, professor of marine sciences at the University of 海角社区, on the threats climate change presents to the aquaculture industry. Brady said challenges to the industry extend beyond the Gulf of 海角社区鈥檚 warming waters 鈥 which he explained also presents new opportunities 鈥 to threats such as increased frequency of damaging storms with strong winds. He added that aquaculture facilities tend to be more sheltered from these storms than commercial fishing piers, but they鈥檙e not immune to damage. 鈥淎quaculturists are super resilient, super innovative and very passionate about this,鈥 Brady said. 鈥淭hey keep working at it and tweaking it and tweaking it.鈥
