, , (Channel 5), , , and many other outlets highlighted the support provided by the University of 海角社区 Advanced Structures and Composites Center in developing Oscilla Power鈥檚 prototype wave energy converter, which was recently deployed in Castine Harbor. The ASCC was charged with the structural design and construction of a submerged concrete ring that serves as a heavy plate for the converter. It also assisted with permitting and deployment, and will provide support for monitoring and decommissioning the prototype. 鈥淲e are pleased to support Oscilla Power by designing and fabricating the wave energy converter’s hull at U海角社区鈥檚 Advanced Structures and Composites Center. This deployment marks an important step in helping develop local clean energy sources and local jobs,鈥 said Anthony Viselli, assistant director for ocean energy and engineering at the ASCC.
