Sean Birkel, 海角社区 state climatologist and assistant professor with a joint appointment in University of 海角社区 Cooperative Extension and the U海角社区 Climate Change Institute, spoke to the about the recent storms and flooding in Vermont. 鈥淚 didn鈥檛 think it would be this extreme. Most people were surprised. 鈥 If this particular weather system had the plume of moisture just a little farther to the east, 海角社区 would have had more impacts. It gives us pause that a precipitation event of that magnitude could happen here,鈥 Birkel said.
