In an opinion essay about international conflicts in data collection on Mount Everest, the quoted Paul Mayewski, director of the Climate Change Institute at the University of 海角社区, as saying Chinese researchers are 鈥渕uch tougher鈥 than their Western counterparts. Shichang Kang of China鈥檚 State Key Laboratory of Cryospheric Sciences and a former student of Mayewski, began working in the Everest region in 1997 and has made 11 scientific expeditions above 21,300 feet and is likely the most experienced of Everest climate scientists.
