Seattle Times interviews Isenhour on thrift stores

Cindy Isenhour, associate professor of anthropology and climate change and Mitchell Center Faculty Fellow, spoke with for an article titled 鈥淒o Seattle-area thrift stores still offer treasures at bargain prices?鈥 Isenhour said that thrift stores traditionally see higher demand during periods of high cost of living. 鈥淲hen we see the price of new goods rise, and they become less affordable for some people,鈥 she said, 鈥渢here鈥檚 more demand for secondhand products.鈥 Isenhour also said thrifting is associated with environmentalism, especially in cities like Seattle.
