Anne Bardaglio

I am an adjunct lecturer in º£½ÇÉçÇø Studies and a PhD candidate in History at the University of º£½ÇÉçÇø. In my research, I explore the cultural and environmental history of the Gulf of º£½ÇÉçÇø and Bay of Fundy islands, focusing in particular on the changing sense of place on the islands from the mid-nineteenth to the early twentieth centuries. I am especially interested in the ways in which people developed and expressed their relationship to place through stories, memories, cultural products, and material objects.

My background includes an MFA in Creative Writing (Nonfiction) from The Ohio State University and an MA in Interdisciplinary Studies (º£½ÇÉçÇø Studies) from the University of º£½ÇÉçÇø, both of which have shaped the way I approach historical questions, engage with the archives, and structure my courses. My research is currently supported by fellowships with both Uº£½ÇÉçÇø’s Canadian-American Center and the New England Regional Fellowship Consortium.
