SUMMARY:4-H 海角社区 App Challenge Series
DESCRIPTION:The 4-H 海角社区 App Challenge series will provide an introduction to Tyler Technologies鈥櫬牶＝巧缜� App Challenge聽and provide guided support for developing an app. This will be a series for ages 13+ that focuses on the foundations of developing a web-based application\, including introduction to the聽海角社区 App Challenge. Participants will engage in design thinking\, prototyping\, and problem solving all while going through the process of developing their own app. At the end of the series\, participants\, if they choose\, will be able to submit their application to the聽海角社区 App Challenge聽for聽the chance to earn valuable prizes\, including scholarships totaling $10\,000. In this series\, youth will engage in hands-on learning\, computer programming\, and design with guidance and support from experts at Tyler Technologies and 4-H. Participants must be 海角社区 residents. \nParticipants will need access to a computer and be required to create a聽code.org聽login.聽Devices need to be one per participant (sharing a device is not advisable for this session). Tablets and mobile devices do not work with this platform. DESCRIPTION:鈥淪tart Your 4-H Volunteer Journey鈥� will provide participants with information about the U海角社区 Extension 4-H program\, including key aspects of positive youth development and opportunities to help youth as a volunteer. The one-hour virtual sessions will also outline the application process for anyone interested in getting involved. \n4-H is a positive youth development program that empowers youth to 鈥渇ind their spark鈥� and thrive. Volunteers play key roles in these experiences\, making a difference by helping youth explore and discover the skills they need to lead successful and fulfilling lives. DESCRIPTION:The 4-H Intro to Artificial Intelligence Club will provide an introduction to what artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning are. This will be a 6 session series for ages 9+ that focuses on the foundations of AI\, including introduction to AI\, pattern recognition\, human versus machine learning\, AI in daily life and ethical awareness. Participants will take a closer look at how these are currently being used\, learn about what AI does well and what it does not do well and considerations for using AI. \nArtificial Intelligence has incredible capabilities. This series will reveal some opportunities and challenges of this emerging technology in a safe learning environment. SUMMARY:4-H Ag Ambassadors Program
DESCRIPTION:Who:聽This program is for all 海角社区 youth ages 14-18. \nWhat:聽海角社区 4-H is launching a new session cohort for interested eligible youth for the 海角社区 4-H Agricultural Ambassadors program!聽 The program is designed for youth ages 14-18 who are interested in any aspect of agriculture.聽 Youth spend time getting to know each other and learn both online and in-person in sessions facilitated by U海角社区 4-H Staff and community partners. Sessions will focus on career exploration\, exploring the 海角社区 Food System with farm and production visits around the state\, and building relationships with industry professionals. \nThis season we will visit local 海角社区 Ag businesses like Libby Maple\, Yeti Ridge Farm and more. Transportation assistance for these events may be available upon request. \nIn addition to the multi-week session\, youth will serve in their ambassador role for at least 1 year.
