DESCRIPTION:Native plants are important in attracting pollinators\, of all types to your garden. But what do you do once you have these wonderful life forms visiting your plants and looking to make a permanent home聽in聽your聽growingareas?聽By聽incorporating native plants which provide food\, nesting and overwintering shelter you create habitat. Learn about the many ways in which native plants can become central to the long-term biodiversity needs in your garden. A hands-on activity of sowing native plant seeds will follow the presentation. Open to all skill levels. \nBio:\nIvonne Vazquez is the owner/grower of Bas Rouge Farm & Forge a Native Plant Nursery in Orono\, 海角社区. She is a former Master Gardener Volunteer\, Licensed Registered 海角社区 Guide/Recreation\, photographer\, garden writer\, speaker\, workshop presenter and teaches Basic Gardening at Bangor Adult Education. DESCRIPTION:A musical adaptation of a wildly popular series of books is coming to the Hauck Auditorium stage at the University of 海角社区! \nThe University of 海角社区 School of Performing Arts Division of Theatre and Dance is proud to present 鈥淭he Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical鈥� as their first production of Spring 2026! The show is based on the Percy Jackson books by Rick Riordan. For this stage adaptation\, the music and lyrics are by Rob Rokicki and the book is by Joe Tracz. \nIt鈥檚 the story of young Percy Jackson\, an ordinary young person who discovers that he has extraordinary origins. Soon\, he finds himself thrust into a world of gods and magic that he doesn鈥檛 fully understand\, all while trying to navigate his own ideas and identity. \nThis production 鈥� directed by D. Granke 鈥� will run February 27 through March 8 in Hauck Auditorium\, now featuring a brand-new state-of-the-art theatrical lighting system! Tickets are $15; admission is free with a student 海角社区Card.
