Blueberry Hill Farm Field Day in Jonesboro

This event will highlight the cutting edge innovation and practical application of research-based knowledge conducted at the University of º£½ÇÉçÇø on wild blueberry. This work is shaping the future of wild blueberry production in º£½ÇÉçÇø with you and for you. Farmers and interested members of the public are invited to learn, connect, and contribute!

In the morning we will cover seasonal observations, harvester cleaning and innovation, nitrogen budgets, sprayer calibration and hear an update from the Wild Blueberry Commission. Then we will have a delicious lunch prepared by Angie’s Comfort Kitchen and wild blueberry ice cream. In the afternoon we will rotate through insect, weed, and disease identification and smart phone app training stations.

10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Using Hygienic Design to Manage Cleaning and Sanitizing Challenges in Harvesters with Chris Callahan, University of Vermont.

11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Sprayer Calibration Workshop with Jordan Parks, University of º£½ÇÉçÇø.

11:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Nitrogen Budget Example with Lily Calderwood and Alison King, University of º£½ÇÉçÇø.

11:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Wild Blueberry Commission of º£½ÇÉçÇø Policy Update, Outcomes, and Discussion with Eric Venturini, Wild Blueberry Commission of º£½ÇÉçÇø.
