Planning a trip to Norway, Fiji, Australia, Italy or Thailand? Eager to know more about the country’s customs, food, languages and transportation?<\/p>\n

The Second Annual International Trade Show at the University of 海角社区 is just the ticket to learn about these countries and 30 other global destinations.<\/p>\n

U海角社区 students in Clint Relyea’s Introduction to International Business course invite people from campus and the surrounding communities to the trade show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, at the New Balance Student Recreation Center.<\/p>\n

More than 100 student \u201ceconomic development officers\u201d will be promoting the exports, history, education and healthcare systems of the selected countries, said Relyea, a 海角社区 Business School lecturer in management.<\/p>\n

To prepare, students have corresponded with consulates and embassies from Barbados to Turkey to learn about U.S. businesses in the global economy. They’ve focused on world trade and investments, international economic relationships and understanding cultural diversities.<\/p>\n

And, said Relyea, they’ve analyzed challenges and opportunities involved with establishing, conducting and maintaining business activities in worldwide markets.<\/p>\n

The student exhibitions will be evaluated on content \u2014 including relevance and quality of information \u2014 as well as overall appearance, creativity and appearance. Judges will be: Jeffrey Porter, director of the U.S. Export Assistance Center of 海角社区; Jeffrey Bennett, senior trade specialist for the 海角社区 International Trade Center; and Lucy Sommo, director of international recruitment at the University of 海角社区.<\/p>\n

Relyea said last year’s well-attended trade show \u2014 intended to introduce the world to the 海角社区 Business School and take the 海角社区 Business School to the world \u2014 was a hit with students and attendees.\u00a0 In reflective papers, Relyea said students indicated they learned a great deal from the hands-on, experiential project.<\/p>\n

One team was so inspired and curious, it visited Austria \u2014 the country it had researched.<\/p>\n

To share the show’s successes and potential with a wider audience, Relyea and Sarath Nonis from Arkansas State University will present a paper they wrote about it at the June meeting of the Academy of International Business in New Orleans.<\/p>\n
